EAWL - Small Projects

The East African Women’s League (EAWL) is a voluntary women’s organization that supports many small grass roots projects throughout Kenya. For these projects, EAWL organises fund-raising, charity-monitoring, account management to ensure accountability of funds.

Cheli & Peacock supports EAWL fundraising events, as well as specific projects:

 “Glass for Glasses”:

Cheli & Peacock contributes to this project by collecting and sorting in Nairobi all discarded glass from its lodges, and transporting it to Nairobi Glass Industries recycling centre. Payment for the recycled glass is donated to the Kijabe Eye Hospital for their eye projects for the poor, including free glasses.

So when you finish that bottle of wine watching the sun go down over the magnificent African landscape; know that the bottle will have a new life in the recycled glass creations of “Kitengela Glass”, and the proceeds will benefit eye projects for the poor!
